I have a TI-84 Plus and a TI-36x Pro. I mainly use the TI 36x, and like it because you can solve polynomials and systems really fast on it, which is really useful. However, from what I’ve seen on practice tests, there are usually 1-2 questions on which a graphing calculator can come in handy. Can I bring both of them and use whichever one when needed during the SAT? I checked the calculator policy page on the collegeboard website and it says nothing about this.
You can bring a backup calculator but you can only have ONE on your desk at a time for section four. You technically also need to ask the proctor before you swap between the calculator on your desk and under your desk. I believe that the 84 does everything and more that the 36 does so you’ll probably want that to be your primary calculator.
