Can I Cancel To Take One Test BEFORE I take it?

I'm signed up to Writing, Math IIC, and US History in December. But I just got a pretty good score in Math IIC, is there a way for me to "cancel" taking it beforehand?, so I can just take Writing and US History?

You dont have to cancel it it by calling ets or by e-mail. All you have to do is skip the test you dont want to take on testing day, and collegeboard wont count it as one of the tests taken.

tell them your calc malfunctioned.

davidn08, smart move man...

As adjlad said, on test day just tell the proctor you're not taking it. It's not a big deal.

You don't even need to tell the proctor. You just need to not fill in that section of the answer sheet, and then leave.

actually, i think maybe if you leave one entire test blank, they may cancel all the tests you take on that date.

the best thing is to pretend you're gunna take math (as your last test), and then when it starts, tell the proctor that your calc doesnt work.

I think you should not follow davidn08's advice. Call the colllege board and alert them you are only taking 2 tests...or don't. My son planned to take 2 SAT IIs in November, decided after the October scores were in to only take one..never called anyone, just never took it- and he just got his score back for Nov. It was not a problem.

Why would you lie/pretend...

Yeah, I was afraid that the test would be blank, and then I'd be screwed over. However, cancelling a math test takes lots of paperwork and phone calls and you only get your scores 1-2 weeks after everybody else who gets their scores. Has anyone ever called Collegeboard and actually canceled a test?

I was signed up for two SAT II subject tests in November, Writing and Math. Decided not to take math, and all it did was just cancel that one test. When you get your scores, it will be as if you had never signed up for math. So just don't take that one test.

If you just don't take it, they don't cancel all your scores. I've done this and have given this advice several times. Trust me.
