If everything is truthful on my app, can I just create a new Common App account to send a different app to different colleges?

If you say "no", please explain why not.

you probably can't create a new account, since the information from the two would match and there would likely be a technical issue. you can create a new version, though.

^how would there be a technical issue?? i'd have a different username...

and i can't just create a new version. it won't let me send diff teacher recs, since one teacher already did it online, and all his recs get sent to all the versions....ughhhh.

You don't need to make another account to send different apps to different colleges. Go to Changes after Submission, question #2:

Support Center

It's a technical issue because if you have the same name, address and social security number, the system will not allow you to create a new account. Username is irrelevant.

As for teacher recommendations, most teachers write one letter & send it to all the schools that the student applies to. I'd be surprised if your teacher would consent to write different letters.

after you log in, go to the instructions sections and the application versions section.

that should tell you everything you need to know.

the only thing is, before being able to create alternate versions of the common app, you need to first have submitted it to at least one school.

hope this helps :)

Even if you created another account with the same info, when you sent it to the colleges, they would match it up with the rec letters that was sent. Since , you know, its all the same name.

what you can do is call the schools after this holiday break and tell them to remove said-recommendation letter that you dont want
