Can I do it?

My senior year I already have like 3 or 4 APs. :( In my school though..regular chemistry is really fun. So if you're good at science, you probably won't have to worry about that. After this year, my last science class will be regular Physics since my school doesn't offer AP physics. So my junior year will be my biggest science year..so I could definently take AP chem during my senior year since it will probably be a lot of work already with the other 3 classes.

I'm sure you're capable, but that's a huge committment, that many science class, and I don't want your other commitments to get pushed aside. I would recommend senior year highly, but I'm sure you'll do fine either way

Well I'll continue to think about it. I do think it will be easier in senior year, and I won't be so overwhelmed though. Plus I don't want to rush anything. Thanks for the tip :)

sarorah did u apply to NJ drew gov school? I applied there too.

Noo..I've never been to NJ. The gov school is done through the computer at my school..Linda Holton's Governor's School. =

Sarorah ~ I think there might be an advantage to doing the online Chem class at the same time as the Chem II: you would be at your maximum level of preparedness after this effort. My son did six AP's in his sophomore year (he was ambitious, and this was too many as it turned out), so I am sensitive to Celebrian's thoughts that you don't want to overload. But adding AP Chem on top of Chem II is not as difficult as doing AP Chem alone. The problem sets are more work, but the material should be easier because you have already completed Chem I and you will have substantial ovelap between Chem II and AP Chem. Go for it if you think you can mange the work, as it does not get easier in your senior year, apparently.

Hmm..doesn't get easier in senior year? That's interesting. I'm thinking people are anxious in senior year and don't want to to work as much. Now that I think about it, it would be easier if I was doing the chem classes at the same time. I had an Algebra tutor here in person & on the computer when I did Algebra II, and it was very successful. Thanks for the tip reasonable dad, I'll put that into perspective.

compare what chem 2 and ap chem cover, because if you're studying different things at different times, or covering a substantial amount of different material, it may not be as successful as the algebra tutor
