Just a random thought, but what do you think about someone self-studying AP Chem along a regular Chemistry class? I know the curriculum is changing, but I just want to hear some opinions.

It will be nearly impossible to self study that and do a regular chemistry class. You need to know everything in regular chemistry before taking AP! I’m taking AP Chem this year after doing honors chem last year. Trust me it helps tremendously getting a strong foundation in the beginning chem class first! Hope this helps!

Yes ^ agreed. AP Chem is the hardest to self study in my opinion. I’ve self studied Calc BC and Physics B, and I’ve considered AP Chem, but I didn’t think I could do it. It’s a lot of matierial.

Self studying AP Chemistry is a death wish.

Agreed^
Dont do it, take ap chem next year if possible.

It can be done imo, but it would require studying at a hellish pace to cover any pre-AP material you missed. Instead of using a workbook, though, I would definitely recommend reading and practicing out of a cheap, older version of Zumdahl’s Chemistry or Chemistry: The Central Science by Brown.
