can i dropout and apply to colleges as a freshmen

dont like my college and want to transfer somewhere eles.

what options do i have?

anyway i can just pretend this was a leapyear and re-apply to school as a freshmen.
or do i HAVE to either stick it out, get really good grades here, and then apply to transfer.
or should i go to community college and itd be easier to get good grades, i can get a job and live at home, get better grades, and trasfer to a school i really want to go to.

whats my best option? / any creative things i can do? thanks.

It’s too late in the semester to drop classes, I suppose. In that case you will have grades and a transcript from this school and you absolutely will have to disclose that fact if you ever apply to another school. Whether you can apply as a freshman totally depends on how many college credits you have earned.

Ask your advisor if it is too late to drop your very worst classes or not. Then, finish this term, and do your best to pull up the grades in the classes that it is too late to drop.

If you are certain that you don’t want to study at your current college any longer, take a leave of absence at the end of this term, go home, and enroll in your local community college. You may be able to take classes for a semester there in “non-degree” status, but as soon as you become a regular degree-seeking student, you will need to give them an official copy of your transcript from your first college.

When you do apply for transfer to your final college/university, you will need to provide an official copy of your transcript from your first college. However by then you will have better grades from the community college, and you will be able to demonstrate that this first bad semester was, well a first bad semester. Lots of us have them. And while they are scary when they are happening, in the long run they are not deal-breakers.

Wishing you all the best!
