Can I Get Chances From the Nice People of CC?

USC (Southern California)
NYU
Cal State Long Beach
San Fran State U
San Diego State U
Pace University
Yale
Marymount Manhattan
LMU (CA)
Northeastern

I am a junior in the Northeast. I have a 3.8-3.9 (UW) and 4.40 (W). I take all honors classes and am currently taking one AP class.

I have great ECs. I am a part of four clubs. I am president in one of them and I started one club. And I have attended an Ivy League's summer program and because of my EC I have been on the NY Times.com!

I was a lead volunteer at a prestigious hospital and have 200 hours of service. I am also a part of the student government.

I am a great writer so my essay should be good any teacher-counselor recs should be amazing also

I got a 1950 on my first practice SAT test!

I will get a 2000+ on the real test if I study hard enough!

…

Yale reach, NYU reach, USC low reach and apart from LMU and marymount (because i don’t know them), your in the others.

I’m curious to know what this EC of urs is though that got u on2 ny times? care2elaborate?

and dw bout purple, it’s a ■■■■■ im thinking :)

but my GPA is higher than the admits of USC

yes but you only have 1 ap

I am taking two more next year

you need to take more aps to get into top colleges like yale. it doesnt matter if your gpa is great if your taking easy classes. unless your school only offers 3 aps.

USC (Southern California)-reach
NYU-low reach
Yale-high reach
Northeastern-low reach

These are the only schools I am familiar enough to chance with

So your GPA is high, but that may mean easy classes? How do colleges verify you are truly smart, they look at your standardized test scores. Now I would not say your scores are poor, its just that for schools like Yale, they are low and not great enough to support your GPA. Also Yale is a reach for everybody. As for USC, I think your lower 25%?, so it remains as a reach. NYU and Northeastern are your best probably in getting accepted, one AP in your junior year really is not that rigorous, so possibly make it your senior year? That is your school offers less than five APs, this may be fine. Take Subject II tests to show aptitude in a certain subject. Try to enhance your academic profile number wise, your ECs seem somewhat adequate

Well I take all honors classes, thus my GPA gets weighted! I plan to take three APs next year, is that going to help a lot?
