can i get in to UT Austin engineering with this?

<p>I am sophmore at UT San Antonio for mechanical engineering, and want to transfer to UT Austin for petroleum engineering.</p>

<p>My gpa is currently 3.87
So far i have taken or im in:
-Calculus I & II
-Egr Physics I
-Chem I & II
-Statics
- other gen ed classes.</p>

<p>I have not take many engineering classes since i had a few pre-reqs to knock out, and i recently got out of the military and had to refresh my memory. I did 4 years active and now I'm part of the selected reserves so hopefully that will help my application. I was not the best student in high-school but from my understanding it doesn't really matter now.</p>

<p>I would like your opinion on how much of a chance I have at getting accepted and if being a veteran helps.</p>

<p>Very execellent. Do you need aid in order to go? Because transfer students get little to no aid</p>

<p>Yea your GPA is very good, I think you have a chance (also check out TAMU and TTU)</p>

<p>With a 3.78 after the core engineering courses, I would imagine you have a great shot.</p>
