Can I get in with these stats? =\

Stats:

SAT: 550 CR 640 M 620 W (1810 OVERALL)

SAT IIs: 580 Math IIC 570 Literature 630 US History

GPA: 4.0 UW, 4.56 W

Rank: 1/420

Other stats: 4 on AP English Lang. & Composition, 3 on AP US History

Subjective:

Personal Statements: In my opinion, and from what 6 of my teachers tell me, it's pretty darn good.

Location/Person:

State or Country: California

School Type: Public

Ethnicity: Chinese

Gender: Male

Other Factors:

Extracurriculars: President of Key Club, President of Food Club, Men's Varsity Tennis, Peer Counselor, NHS/CSF, Vice President of Drama Club, was casted the lead role in 1 school play and was casted in a total of 3 plays.

Applied to UCLA using a special ELC (Eligibility in Local Context) account that was given to me.

High Match/Slight Reach. That SAT score is low, but people have gotten in with a lot worse, and that GPA is pretty high. ECs are pretty decent too.

How come your username is "notaznguy", but you're Chinese? You don't like your heritage? :P

You have a strong GPA and essays (from what you say), but your SAT I and SAT IIs are the only thing holding you back. Considering everything, it's hovering between a reach and a match (more on the reach side though).

notaznguy:

UCLA: Slight Reach

I'd say match. I know a bunch of people who got in with like 1500s. Don't know why the official average is so high. Most of the people I talk to at LA have around 1700-1800s. Or maybe it is just a coincidence that I happen to know a bunch of people with lower SAT scores. hahaha.

I would say barely a Match. It would be great to get those SAT/SATII scores higher a notch.

Most people i know scored in the 1950-2150 range

I'd say match/slight-reach.

I've had valedictorian friends with 1700-1800-type SAT scores that managed to get into both Berkeley and LA. It's valued v. highly!
