Can I get in?

Chance me please
Hi! I go to a private high school in Turkey. In the Turkish system, we had to take an exam before going to high school. And I am in a school where the student with the lowest score on the exam was in 99th percentile, so we are all geniuses lol. I am saying this because my GPA is not so high and that is the reason. I am hoping to do an econ degree.

SAT: 2390 (790 on writing)
Subject Tests: 800 on Maths 2, 790 on Literature
TOEFL 677/677 paper-based
99.5the percentile nationally in MSOS (high school exam in Turkey)

Can you get in? Yes. You’re certainly qualified to do the work at Stanford, as are 80% of the applicants. Will you get in? No one on this forum can tell you, and an admission officer couldn’t even tell you without reviewing your entire application (essays and recs included) and comparing it to the entire pool in a given year.

As an international, know that applying for financial aid will mitigate your chances. Furthermore, the international pool tends to be more competitive since there are so few spots for international students.

Thanks for the answet!

Great stats, congratulations! Just for your information, there are 6 Turkish students in this year’s freshman class, two of them from RC. I think you have your chance, just be sincere in your essays and hope for the best. Good luck!

How did you know I am from RC?

From your description of the school, and from the initials of the MUN. Anyone else applying from RC this year? In any case, you appear to be very well placed academically and in terms o f your EC’s. I bet you’ll get excellent recs. Your essays will be crucial to distinguish you from other excellent candidiates. Kolay gelsin ;)

Thanks!!! How did you learn that Stanford fact btw? (About 6 people entering there from Turkey)

Sorry didn’t check back earlier. I know this because someone very dear to me is one of them. And they were given this information during international orientation week. Again good luck!
