Can I get into an Ivy College with straight B's Freshman Year? I didnt get any other B's the rest of HS. Can I still get it since I had this upward trend? My overall GPA is still high. Do you know anyone who didnt get A's and got into an Ivy?

What are your test scores?

Are you a URM?

Are you from an usual state for ivies?

Which ivies are you interested?

1.Very high in SAT, SAT 2, and ACT

Not really / Italian

NJ

Any Ivy…

Well, why are you interested in Ivy only? You do realize there are Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Duke, UChicago and Georgetown, which are AS good as Ivies?

Anyways, these Ivy Plus universities are really competitive to get into. Its all only going to get even more competitive over the years.
Any chink in that armor can throw you out of the pool. These days everything needs to be flawless.

I would say your chance is indeed lessened…but try to accomodate for that chink in the armor.
Good luck.

I don’t think Princeton looks at Freshmen grades :/

Likely. Just to make sure, write a paragraph stating that your GPA was low because of bad freshman grades. Say that you have made progress, and your sophomore, junior, and senior gpa is ____

princeton doesn’t look at freshman year, same case with Stanford

Maybe I’m missing something, but why should he do this? Colleges will see his grades; he doesn’t have to write an essay about it.

Yes I’m sure you have a good chance! Don’t worry about it.Seriously! Most colleges are very forgiving for freshman year grades soph-first semester senior yr is what matters really–especially junior yr which is the most important year.

If you were wondering schools like:

Stanford
Princeton
UC’s

don’t count freshman year at all :)

and lol!!! you’re a guido!!! jk.

Does anyone have proof or a website where it clearly says that Stanford, princeton or UC’s wont look freshman year grades? Or is this just common knowledge or something?
