Can I get into an Ivy League school with a GED

Oh, so you lied and said you have a GED when you don’t? It’s really hard to try to be helpful when the feedback is summarily rejected and the story changes…

I think the problem is that the OPisnt getting the answers she wants.

Your 2nd thread contradicted so much of what’s here. And you blame the GA school system, the US school system, two different high schools, your mom…everyone and everything. But I have yet to read on either thread how you’re going to prevent the same problems from resurfacing.

I’m also dismayed to read that I’m looked down upon because I went to community college.

Here’s the straight answer to your question: those Ivies admit only a teeny tiny percentage of their amazingly qualified applicant pools. Is there something in your application that you’ve neglected to mention that puts you at the front of that list of amazingly qualified applicants?

The reality is that you’re starting off with one or two high school credits. Your options are to finish high school…and realistically it’s NOT happening in 18 months… or get your GED ( which you said in the other thread you don’t have.). Then you’ll be able to start considering college.

For the time being, I think your real priority should be getting your mental health in shape, and possibly getting that GED. You’re right… you do need some form or equivalent to a high school diploma. So research your options, and don’t be too quick to shoot down the options that are open to you.

The reality is that once you have a college degree-- any college degree-- it no longer matters whether you had a standard h.s. Diploma or a GED. So start getting your ducks in a row to make that possible, both academically and in terms of your mental health.

this is why my mental health is astray because I can’t seem to get a simple answer and its all different and all over the place… the recent thread I posted which suddenly disappeared for I dont know what reason had more detail related to this thread, i’m only 18… and I’m having what feels like a mid-life crisis because I have no idea what to do and I’m mortified about how my life is going to end up

MODERATOR’S NOTE: We expect people to tell consistent stories, and the OP is not doing that (in the second thread she started, she specifically stated that she did not have a GED). Since this poster is not being consistent, I am going to close the thread. Other threads started on the same topic will also be closed.
