Can I get into an Ivy League?

Hi! I know that there are like a plethora of questions like this one but I really want to know whether or not I am a good fit for an Ivy league( specifically Brown, Columbia or Cornell). I would also like to know how to improve myself over this year; I am a junior right now.

So my Freshman year I was ranked 1.
And sophomore year I changed schools ( moved to Yonkers), because of which the teachers did not know my potential(I don't know how they missed looking at my GPA). As a result, I could not really take any AP courses ( my school only provides 2 of those). But I scored a 100 in chemistry nevertheless that year.
Well, this year I am taking the hardest courses possible. I am a full IB diploma student(technically, not yet). All the courses except for math are IB and next year too, I will take all IB courses. So far my GPA is 98.5. I am not sure what my rank is but it is definitely in the top 3%.

Volunteering/Ecs.
I am a writer and am currently working on my first novel ( probably not worth mentioning but oh well).
I have tutored students from the 8th grade- the pre algebra course.
I have taken college courses while in Brooklyn: College Now and a course in Marine ecology.
A short story of mine was published in the school magazine.
I am also part of another journal.
I play the second clarinet in the school band.
I am a member of the keyboard club and biodiversity.
Junior achievement program.
National Honors Society.
Recognized by Yonkers mayor and a member of Congress.
Ambassador at an organization called SEO.
Am tutoring my friend in chemistry regents.
I am a junior docent at the Hudson RIver Museum.
Well, that is all I can remember right now.

I have not taken the SATs yet, and my PSAT scores have not arrived yet either.

Last year's PSAT~1700

I just need some suggestions. I am the first in my family to get an education in America. I came here and started my freshman HS year. Basically, I did not know about the college process, regents , ap or anything when I came. I was pretty clueless. And since my family only "recently" moved here, it is excessively important for me to get an exceptional education(not that colleges outside the Ivies are not exceptional. There are other personal reasons why I am shooting for them). I will be the first one to get a good job( my father and mother work at Dunkin' Donuts). So yeah. ANd can anyone let me know what schools provide either major or minor in the ff( colleges and universities other than the Ivies): marine biology+writing+PRE MED+ astronomy.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

“I am a junior right now.”

You’re hardly halfway done with your high school career. Come back when you are a senior.

You’re on the right track. Take the SAT’s, do well on them, and keep up with your grades and extracurricular activities.

How exactly do I improve my extracurriculars?

When it comes to extracurricular activities, colleges don’t want over 20 different things you your application. No, they want you to choose at least 3-4 activities that you will sick with for at least 2-3 years. Whether that is a sport or an instrument. I would say your extra-curricular programs are coming along. If you continue working for the school’s newspaper, tutoring, the clubs you are a part of, playing the instrument you should be fine. Focus on the things you like, don’t just do something because it will look good on your application. Remember, the longer you stick with it the more colleges will be impressed.

Thanks a lot you guys! I will follow your advice as best I can.

Where are you from? It sounds like you have great grades and ECs. The only thing that I see you could improve is your psat score and eventually sat score. I wouldn’t worry about how you scored on your psat however. I didn’t score so well each time I took it, but I did fine on the sat and I got the score I wanted on the ACT. I would suggest taking the ACT and SAT. You might test really highly on the ACT since it sounds like you are doing well in school. Good Luck!

Thanks you! I am not sure by what you mean regarding where I am from. I study in Yonkers High School. It is an IB school, and I am going for the full IB diploma. I agree with you regarding the PSAT scores. I still did not get the recent ones; I am hoping to do better on them. I am studying for the SATs. My parents can’t really afford the tutoring thing, so I am basically studying on my own. SO, yeah. My guidance counselor told me the same thing: I shold take both the ACT and the SAT. But I am so stressed. Either way, I will take them both. Thank you lots for your suggestion. I am trying to open a literary club in my school. I was shocked to find it did not have one. I am hoping it will work out!!!
