Can I get into an Ivy with straight B's Freshman Year? I didnt get any other B's the rest of HS. Can I still get it since I had this upward trend? My overall GPA is still high. Do you know anyone who didnt get A's and got into an Ivy?

probably could yea. It might be difficult but you can try. You need strong SAT/ACT scores though

Absolutely possible. In fact the upward trend is a good thing because it shows that you were unsatisfied with B’s and were sufficiently motivated to raise your GPA. Plenty of people here at Harvard didn’t get completely straight A’s through high school.

technically possible, but it reduces your already small chances (small because there’s a 93% probability that any given applicant will not get in)

sure you can just write good essays for ivy leagues those are the ones that make the difference cause perfect test scores and gpa are common they want unique people

no. and no.

^What why??? I’ve heard of a student who got into Stanford with straight B’s in his Senior Transcript.

unless you are a urm, a d-1 athlete, and opened a fortune 500 company when you were 13, i wouldn’t cross your fingers. grades are the most important thing in a college application and adcoms use them to quickly separate applications that deserve a second look from those that can be tossed.

@spongegar: senior transcript? the student probably got into stanford in its early action round. plus, universities generally do not care about second semester grades.
