Can I get into an Ivy with straight B's Freshman Year?

Can I get into an Ivy with straight B's Freshman Year? I didnt get any other B's the rest of HS. Can I still get it since I had this upward trend? My overall GPA is still high. Do you know anyone who didnt get A's and got into an Ivy?

colleges generally dont care very much about individual grades. they mostly look at GPA. i didnt do very well my freshman year either. (3.57 GPA. not bad, but certainly not ivy league level) i pulled it together and got straight A’s for the rest of high school. I got accepted and am attending Cornell in the fall. my overally GPA was 3.83. dont worry about it. you can still get into an ivy even if you do bad one year. plus, colleges really do like to see improvement in you grades. it shows you want to learn. good luck

I got a 3.0 UW gpa for junior year.

ghealy, I am no expert but I am pretty sure they look at the difficulty of each class and the individual grade the student earned for each one. They need to put the GPA into perspective.

But back to the OP, I got straight B’s frosh year and still got in.

I was accepted to Cornell with an overall GPA between 3.0 and 3.1.
