It’s so hard for me to respond to your Chance Me, just because I don’t really know the ‘criteria’ for BU and similar colleges, but I will do my best to give some advice!

Stats:

I would say that just based off of your SAT and ACT scores, you seem to be in the middle-top range for BU. Your GPA is definitely higher than their average (which is a 3.6 uw according to PrepScholar), although I am unsure as of your course rigor/the course rigor that BU requires. However, your SAT seems a bit lower than their average, so it might be best to improve that

Additionally, your extracurriculars seem to be pretty good for BU: you show that you can handle many long-time commitments.

However, I have to say that I"m not very experienced with what it takes to get into BU/similar universities, but I would say that you seem to have a solid chance!

I would say from now on, try to really double down and give the rest of the year and the first semester of senior year your best effort! Try to do really well in Model UN (like getting a few awards between now and application deadlines wouldn’t hurt :stuck_out_tongue: i’m in MUN myself, and if you have any questions, I’d love to be able to help!), and try to use your passion for basketball and turn it into something like joining the team (if you haven’t already, sorry if you are!). Participating in extracurriculars are good, but it’s even better when you turn your passions into something concrete (such as winning an award).

Also- talk to your guidance counselor as much as possible- I regret not going to mine earlier, as they are extremely helpful (although I guess it depends on the school).

Take the SAT again after more prep. Look for updated admissions data from BU for enrolled students in late summer or early fall. (The data for enrolled students is lower than for admitted.)
