Can I get into Cal Poly SLO

Hey guys I was just wondering if you guys could tell me what my chances might be for getting into Cal Poly. I applied
early decision and I was wondering if that might increase my chances? My CSU weighted GPA is a 3.75 I have a lot of honors and AP classes. My current SAT is 630 verbal and 590 math. Any input would be great! Thanks!

Oh, also I’m apply for a double major in history and English, so I don’t know if that would help.

You cannot apply as a double major at SLO on the application. You have pick 1 major and then work with your academic advisor in regards to your 2nd major. SLO does try to discourage a double major since it may add more quarters onto your schedule. Since your intended majors are in the same College it should be a little easier to work out your schedule. See link below for more information:

Your GPA and SAT are within range but below the average. Did you calculate your CSU GPA using 9th grades also (no extra honors points for 9th grade) since SLO uses the 9th grades in their calculation?

SLO: High Match

I’m gonna apply this week! Okay which major do you recommend that I put down? Thank you so much! And yeah I used the CSU GPA calculator

@natalie32: I think you have an equal chance at either Major. Pick the one you want the most.

Do you know anything about how hard it is for Cal Poly to actually let you do a double major? Is this not a common thing for people that go there?

Double majors are not common at SLO. That is why I sent you the link regarding the steps required to go through the process. It will probably easier for you since your 2 majors have a lot of overlap in required classes and are in the same College. If you have concerns, you should contact admissions. They should be able to address all your questions.
I should also add that at least 25% or more of the students at SLO are Engineering majors which are difficult majors to begin with, so very few will try to double major.
