Hey everyone, new here I'm Blake. So I'm a sophomore in high school and was wondering what my chances are of getting into cal poly.

-weighted gpa 4.14 unweighted 4.0
(Christian highschool and taking all honors and ap classes the school has to offer)
- CR and Math score in sat 1360
Hoping to major in marine biology.

So what are your opinions on my chances of getting in if I applied with the early admissions? Thank you all! :)

Lol first post here, can my OP even be seen? :P

How on earth do you expect anyone to answer this with only 1/2 a year of grades that will be considered and test scores as a sophomore? You appear to be on the right track; spend some time reading the class of 2018 admission thread going on right now to see what kinds of stats are getting in and getting rejected. Good luck!

Ok, i expect to get all A’s through my highschool classes. I’m just really nervous even though it’s so far away.

Thank you for your response. what would I need to do to get into Cal Poly?

If you get straight As, you’ve got a good chance. SLO has different admission criteria than the other CSUs and lots of kids with great stats get bounced.

Take a look at the material linked in this thread - it will help you choose the correct courses to maximize your chances.

Cal Poly SLO doesn’t have marine biology unless you plan on majoring in something related to biology or environmental science (you gotta declare a major when you apply)

So is there any way I could get a major in marine biology at cal poly? And thanks for responses. :)
