CAN I GET into Duke, Cornell, or Tufts?

African American
2110 SAT
730 Math I 660 Lit
rank:6/247
4.63 GPA

Excellent recs, excellent, essays, excellent EC'a

If you say everything's "excellent", then sure. You can already see from your numbers where you fit, so there isn't anything anyone else can contribute.

i wouuld say very good recs, veyr good essays, very good Ec's

minority+relatively high SAT+good(not amazing) SAT2s+top5%=in at all

nice, i didnt think i had a good shot

Well, that's not misleading.

wait,, i dont get it..

well...u have posted ur chances on this like 5 million times

...you've got as good of chances of anyone....

good luck...

remember, its out of your hands :) just relax

I agree with bsbllallstr that you have a good chance, but I believe the fact that you are of a desireable ethnicity to colleges will add strength to your application (the pc term being affirmative action of course :) ). But to some extent, college admissions is a crap shoot. Now you (and me...also a Duke applicant...) can only hope the adcoms are friendly.

I have pretty similar stats (a little less in Sat 1, a little more in SAT 2) and am applying to these colleges as well. Hope we both get in.

this kid has posted his chances a gazilllllion times, why does everyone always respond...

lol yeah . . like twice a week here and in the Cornell boards

Is it ethical to list your ethnicity as "black" on college applications, even if you are not. I mean can't we all argue that all humans originated from Africa, and therefore we are all black. Just a thought. The concept of ethnicity and what nationality you identify with has always seemed very fluid to me.

haha what an interesting idea!

My friend actually listed his ethnicity as hispanic on the UC application and got into CAL. His stats were okay, 3.7w, 1400 Sat, and very few ECs. Who knows however, if he would have been able to make it into CAL should he have listed his true ethnicity (Fillipino)...

hey Azn, that is true

but, alot of arguements can be made against that also

You can get into all three of those schools Easy.

how do you know you got very good recs ? did you read them ?

haha yah I love how everyone says that...people always assume their professors have high opinions of them.
