I have prepared my resume and application for Johns Hopkins since I was in high school..(except for freshmen year).. I was kinda spoil first year.. haha

Anyway, since I really want to go to Johns Hopkins, I am going to apply there despite of poor scores in SAT..

What do you guys think?

Thanx for reading this!

JHU is very very very focus on SAT.
CR is not competitive.
But in my opinion, you can change your goal?Brown!
It is a good choice.

^ doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Grades are far far more important in Hopkins admissions than SAT's. While it is impossible to accurately predict admissions--you certainly are in the ballpark for ED admission. Good luck.

Thanx for replying.. and encouraging.. both of you.. 009811 and bonanza

good luck to you!

your SATs and tests cores in general are very low and your freshman GPA is kind of bad. But you have a rising trend so that is good.

yea... that's what i am worrying about..

The problem with your SAT scores being low is that JHU might be more skeptical of your school's grading system since high grades "should" correlate with high standardized testing scores.

ED for JHU is about 50% acceptance rate. good chance of getting in

Yea.. DarkSideofMoon4.. I have thought about that too... I hope they do not get too much skeptical..

and cc3c, yes, it is 50%.. but i think since people who have good stats apply.. to johns hopkins.. it's still hard to get in tho..

I think you have a good chance of getting in. You have an excellent resume including leadership positions, science awards, and a strong background of science courses.

I am somewhat confused by your "Korean citizen" status. Is english your second language?
If it is, and I have to assume it is if you're a Korean citizen, then I wouldn't expect you to score as highly on the Writing and Critical Reading sections of the SAT.

I don't know how colleges would take that into account, but I suspect it must figure in somewhere with international students.

I think that you are looking pretty good for your realistics and a couple of your reaches. And ofcourse BU =)

SATs are very important for JHU...

dude damn u have ****load of extra curricular/award and honors. I think you might not get into John Hopkins, as one of their most important, if not the most important, factor is grades (not class rank), and SAT. However, I thinnk you have an excellent chance at Emory, which tends to look more at extracurriculars and stuff.

Just curious though, Ap scores? er how did you do on them and how many did u take?

SO DID YOU GET IN??
i’m dieing to know!

What schools did you end up getting into?

Well, here’s ol’ YoonLee9’s final post to CC:http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/georgia-institute-technology/687264-waitlisted-georgia-tech.html
