Hi, I am a junior and going to be a senior at high school and wanna go to Michigan State. I have a 3.4 unweighted gpa.
I have a 30 act score and a 1260 out of 1600 on the new sat. I took 4 years of chinese, AP Chem, AP micro, AP gov already, and will be taking AP calc and AP lang in 12th grade. I volunteered 20 hours at the library. I also worked at Kumon for 3 months. I played tennis varsity 4 years. I was on a USTA team for a year. I was in Science Olympiad for 2 years. Finally, I was in robotics for 3 years. We made championships and went to worlds in robotics, and we placed in top 50 out of over 4000 teams each time. I know the programming language C++ which i learned during summer. I want to go into computer science and I am Indian American. I live in Michigan. What are my chances at MSU, please be honest.
I’d say apply as early as possible and give it a shot. You’re certainly not out of the running. Just wondering, what robotics team are you on? PM me with the answer because I’m on a team in NJ.
I think you definitely have a good chance.
You will for sure get accepted.
Your GPA, while on the low side, is still in the MSU 3.4-3.9 Range, and you have a really good ACT score. I think that it is a target school, not a backup school or reach school— coming from a michigan resident
