Can I get into NYU stern undergrad Early decision with these low stats

Race: african american(caribbean) / Indian
SAT: 1250 Math 650 Verbal 600
GPA: 3.3 unweighted
essay: incredible
AP's: AP government and politics, AP statistics, AP language and composition
EC's: National honor society, Big brothers/ big sisters of America, Track team (9,10,11,12) . Cross country team (11,12). Basketball team(9,10), spanish club (9,10,11,12). Key club (community service) (9,10,11,12), Indian youth group (10,11,12)

single parent household

are you in the hardest courses at your school? do you have any leadership positions? also, what about your SAT II scores (a relatively high math score - probably on the IIC might be a plus). Your GPA is sort of low and so is your SAT. Being a URM might help boost your chances with your SATs. However, they might not be as forgiving with your GPA. I'd say if eveyrthing else is good (your ECs seem pretty good), you have an okay chance... my two cents

I highly doubt you could get into Stern. Their average SAT is somewhere near 1400 or 1450. In your case its more then SAT scores which are low. Your gpa is only a 3.3 unweighted which for Stern is very low. Remember Stern is as hard and is probably harder then some Ivy league colleges. The people applying to NYU's Stern School are the cream of the crop of NYU applicants. If you think about it your SAT and gpa are low for NYU in general. If you consider that the people who apply to NYU Sternare the cream of the crop of this applicant pool to which ou are already slightly below I don't think the odds look to great.

Your essays must have to be litrerally amazing and even then they probably won't do the trick in this case. Your E.C's are not too bad but nothing exceptional.

Sorry for all this negativeity and you should apply if it really interest you and you have your heart set on it but what I'm saying is I wouldn't get your hopes up.

If you want to go to a business school I suggest University of Maryland-College Park, Penn State, Boston University etc... They are a lot easier to get into then Stern and are still very well respected schools.

Robert H. Smith at College Park has a 1300 cutoff. You can still try NYU, but I would also recommend PSU, Boston College...even try michigan.

waitt penn state univ? like UPEN? isnt that place ranked higher than NYU stern??

^/facepalm

UPenn or Penn stands for the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is an ivy league school.

PSU stands for Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania. It is a public state school.
