Ah it’s a bit on the edge. Your SAT score is very good! Definitely bring that GPA up. It might’ve been good to take AP classes this year, but there’s nothing you can do about that.

I think the best thing you can do is put a focus on ECs. If you really have an interest in computer science/robotics, then really get involved; go for competitions, long-term projects, anything and everything that’s of interest to you. Start early, so it doesn’t get really slapdash over the course of your senior year. Summer programs/projects wouldn’t hurt, either.

Neither of my sisters got into Rutgers, but their stats were way worse than yours. However, I’ve had several cousins get accepted for some solid ECs (really involved hospital volunteerism, national competitions) that made up for so-so GPAs.

If it’s ok with you may I ask what were your sisters stats.
Thank you very much for your input

I only know my middle sister’s, and she’s 10 years older than me so things might’ve changed some:

3.0 weighted GPA
~1800 on the SAT
I’m not entirely sure on the distribution, but I know it was approximately Math: 550 Reading: 650 Writing: 600
She never failed a class but got a D in Math Junior year
2 APs total, 6 honors classes
EC: swimming team, varsity track, some scattered volunteer projects
