Title says it all. I’m a rising senior and have a 3.6 GPA and scored a 1200/1600. I plan on taking the SAT one more time to up my chances. I live in Central Jersey and attend South Brunswick High School. I want to attend Newark for th
Why in the world Newark and not New Brunswick, for which you have the stats? You could also apply to TCNJ and Rowan.
With these stats, lots of other colleges would also be on play, depending on how much you can afford.
What majors are you interested in? Do you know your EFC and what can your parents afford from income and savings?
I have considered New Brunswick but they want at least a 1300 for the business school. My parents can afford most of the colleges in NJ apart from Princeton and some others. TCNJ and Rowan are also colleges I want to apply to but I read Rowan was not as good as Rutgers.
@jdenk12 you should visit the schools if you haven’t already. Rutgers campus is way different than Rowan and TCNJ.
I would consider Rowan business equal to Newark Business but Rowan’ s environment is much better than Newark’s. TCNJ is way better than Rutgers Newark.
Retake the SAT and try for Rutgers NB business.
Add Temple, Susquehanna, Drew, Muhlenberg. If you’re willing to commute or be on a commuter campus, Baruch. If your parents have the means for OOS costs, apply to UXonn, Suny albany, and DUS to Penn State (do NOT check Smeal on application - there’s no advantage to it, and being DUS gives you the same rights as a pre admits - no one is a direct admit and DUS is easier to get if you apply by November 30).
To answer your question, you could definitely get into the Business School at Newark. Both yout SAT score and GPA is about 50th percentile for students admitted in fall 2017.
fact is TCNJ is the highest ranked business school in the state.
