Any advice is helpful! Thanks!

The acceptance rate is under 9%. It’s a stretch for anyone. Work hard in preparing for your ACT.

Everything looks good, including your athletics. Don’t downplay being a varsity swimmer, it is a great thing for USNA.

You will need to work on the ACT scores to bring them up to 30ish to be competitive. I know others will say that the average for accepted candidates is 30 so there must be some below 30. However, the biggest discriminator in the process and the largest chunk of the Weighted Candidate Score is academics and the standardized test scores make up a big part of that. Why settle for less than average if it has the biggest impact on your application? Also, take the SAT at least once. I always recommend taking both tests because different people do well on one or the other. Find your stronger test and take it as often as you can. The Academies superscore the tests so you can never do worse for taking it again.

If you want to be a naval aviator you will need a good background in math and science. Take classes that will help you in those areas. All majors at USNA have a heavy math and science component and even the “soft” majors need to have a good background in them.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for this valuable information and advice. I really appreciate your insight!
