Hi! My names Bonnie Henderson and I'm applying to college and I'm really nervous. My top three I am scared I may not get in to due to low grades and such... I was wondering would I have a chance?

I am 16 years old graduating a year early. I want to attended for a major in International Business and a minor in Cultural Studies.
I have a weighted GPA of 3.92 and SAT scores from my sophomore year of Math- 500 Reading- 530 and Writing- 500
I plan to take the SAT 2 more times and the ACT once.
I have been working for hwy 55 since my 10th grade year and I work 17-18 hours a week,
I have been in FBLA my 11th and 12th grade years holding the secretary position taking up about an hour a week.
I have been a cheerleader for all four grades and that takes up about nine hours a week.
I am in DECA as a member with about an hour a week
and I am also in NHS for about 1 hour a week.

Graduating early is UNRECOMMEDED BY COLLEGES. Don’t do it!!!
UNC Chapel Hill is a reach to you even if you are an instate, and if you are OOS, then you are out of luck. Same for Cornell!

To be truly honest, you would need an AMAZING hook to get into Duke and UNC. These are highly competitive universities(especially duke) and it’s hard for 3.9+ with 2300+ to get in. You may get into NC state.

My recommendation would to be to stay in school for a year or so and improve your gpa and sat scores.

UNC IS in the same league especially depending on the program. UNC is HARDER to get into for an out of state student than is Duke. Easier to get into for an instate student but is not EASY to get into. for ever student at UNC 3 were rejected.

UNC is a fabulous school. There is no questioning that. It just isn’t in the same league as Duke.
Just because UVA is a tremendous school doesn’t mean it’s in the same league as Princeton. The same concept applies here.
