Hey everyone, I've got a question regarding the MAP grant. I'm going to be stopping in at my schools financial aid office on Monday to get my FAFSA done, and I was wondering if I should apply for the Illinois MAP grant, as well as the PELL. I'm in a community college, so right now the PELL grant is covering my entire tuition, along with a reimbursement. Will I still be able to get the MAP grant, or will I be ineligible because my entire tuition is already covered? The estimated COA at my school is around $14,500, and I qualify for the max on the PELL grant, so there would still be a demonstrated need, and it certainly would be very beneficial for me right now.

I also plan to transfer to a 4 year after two more years at my CC, would the MAP grant be better left to save for those years? I see they have a maximum cap of 135 credit hours that MAP will pay for...so I'm not sure if this would be best left for after transfer.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated! :)
