I took a three week summer school at a college and bonded with an Anthropology teacher there who taught me a course. Can i invite him as my optional Teacher recommender to Amherst (or other colleges that allow an extra recommender) on Common App? Should I select him as a Teacher or “Other” and if Teacher, should his subject be Other or what? I am not sure what Anthropology is. A science or Social Science or Other category?

I would hesitate to use the letter from a teacher you knew only for 3 weeks. “Bonding” is great, but a teacher who had you for a full year would be more likely to be able to say more, to give more examples of why you would be a good addition to a campus.
