I will, of course, shorten it and make sure that it fits in the box.
D17 is doing the same thing. As long as you address the essay prompt this shouldn’t be an issue. Colleges and scholarship committees know that applicants re-tool essays. If they wanted something original they’d make that obvious in the essay prompt.
Remember, 90+% of NMSF’s will advance. An outstandingly brilliant essay might earn you one of the 7,500 or so NM scholarships; however, a re-tooled Common Ap. essay shouldn’t keep you from at least reaching finalist.
Yes, I think that’s safe. My D reused one of her essays (but not the CA) to a school for the NMSF essay.
