Can I send subject tests without sending my SAT?

Hi!

I’ve already sent my ACT to Rice University (35C) but was a little confused regarding their policy on the SAT. Rice says “we require all applicants submitting the SAT to submit all scores to Rice.” Is this in reference purely to the SAT I or does this also include the SAT II? Furthermore, does that mean Rice will not allow score choice on the SAT IIs?

My SAT score (new SAT) is a 1490 (730CR 760M) and I have gotten a 690 and 800 on Math 2, and a 730 on literature. I am applying to the school of social sciences. Is it worth sending these in or should I just stick with my ACT (35C)?

Thanks! I’ve been very confused!

@flexiblegoose My son only sent his ACT because he thought Rice said all scores for the sat which he thought meant subject tests and sat test. It is either sat plus subject tests or ACT. My son got in without submitting subject tests they are not required with the ACT. Since your ACT is higher I makes sense just to have sent that. He interpreted to mean all scores even subject tests so he never sent them.

Yes. For Rice admission you either send the ACT or(!!) you send the SAT + Subject Tests.

As the person above me said you have a great ACT score, you aren’t supposed to send anything else and there isn’t even a good reason for you to do so.
