I want to apply to penn state and other Ivey league schools like columbia, but I know my GPA is just bellow what they want and thats because during freshman year 1st semester I got a C and a D but the D was in cooking class. After that semester though I never got below a B in any subject and in Junior year I got all A’s second semester. So I’m wondering if i would still be able to get in to Penn and if they will see the change I made from freshman year all the way to my senior year and take that into account.
Penn State and the University of Pennsylvania are two different schools.
Maybe you could, depends if you submit your application to the right college.
Penn State is public. Penn is private and Ivy. 3.74 OK for Penn State, iffy for Penn.
If you want to get accepted anywhere you need to be familiar with a school’s name.
@harvisel I m sorry but if you are a senior applying to the Ivies and you don’t know that it is Ivy League not Ivey League, and also that Penn is not the same school as Penn State then you clearly haven’t sat down to do basic due diligence on the schools.
Are you an international or ell/ immigrant student? Where do you attend school? What classes does your curriculum include in each of the core academic fields (English, math, foreign language, History/social science, science)?
You posted in the Penn forum asking about Penn State, BTW.
