Please correct me if I'm wrong on anything I say. I am planning to TAG to uc davis and I'm choosing to major in psychology (pre med) there are 2 reasons why I'm going for psych rather than bio. 1 I have all the pre reqs for psych but I'll be missing 1 for bio so it'll be easier to get in. 2 I believe it'll be a bit easier and I'll get better grades. Both subject interest me equally. My main question is if I'm a psych major, will I be allowed to take extra classes like biochemistry genetics anatomy ect to better prepare myself for med school.

You will typically have lower registration priority compared to students who need the courses for their majors, although if there is space in the class and your schedule, you should be able to take them. Some schools may enforce prerequisites, so if your missing course for the biology major is a prerequisite for the course you want to take, you may not be allowed to take the course (and you may have a hard time even if you are allowed to take the course without the prerequisite).

Thanks! This is a but off topic but I’m in cc for 3 years (family problems) and I’m not sure if 2 years will be enough to finish all the premed/bachelor classes. Will doing a bachelor in 6 years, while having a rigorous schedule, hurt my chances?
