Can I take Regular physics 1 then AP physics 1

Hi, Just wondering If this makes sense. During freshman year I went to school in canada, and at my school the first science was considered physics. I’ve since recently transferred to an American high school where you take physics junior year. I am currently in junior year and taking bio as it is the last lab science I have to take, as my counselor counted freshman year science credit as physics and sophomore as chem. I would of liked to take an ap science junior year but my county requires that you take bio and chem first before taking any ap sciences. Since I didn’t take ap physics this year, would it make sense to take it next year because the physics I did in freshman year doesnt quite match the junior physics course. I want to have a full understand in physics. But would it seem weird to colleges that I took physics 1 then ap physics 1? Is this even possible?

All replies are helpful!!

Talk to your guidance counselor to see about the specifics for your school but at my DD’s hs the normal progression was honors physics in sophomore year and then AP physics senior year (although it was AP C, not 1)…

Its okay to take BIo and then take AP bio later…so the same with Physics.
