Hope you can help me with this question.
I am a CC student transferring to UCSC Fall 2017. Wasn’t my dream school. I was rejected by UC Berkeley and UCLA. I appealed and was REJECTED AGAIN Appealing was pretty much my last shot. Now am wondering once i attend UCSC could i transfer to another UC?I know it’s possible to transfer from UC to UC. it’s called intercampus transferring right?
BUT what about community college to a uc and again to another uc? ANYONE?
Why? I would finish out your degree at UCSC and then consider another UC for grad school. How many units will you have completed to transfer in 2018? There are unit cap limits at many of the UC’s so this might be an issue.
I agree with @Gumbymom .
UC’s have a maximum amount of transferable credits you can carry over. If you have completed two years of coursework at your CC, and you want to take classes at UCSC, just know that no credits will transfer from UCSC. Your time there would have been effectively wasted.
If you truly don’t want to attend UCSC, take a gap year and reapply. Though, I DEFINITELY do not recommend this.
Don’t make your situation more difficult than it needs to be. If you do well at UCSC, you can go to a great graduate program. A graduate program that is perhaps better than UC Berkeley.
Maybe your GPA / test scores simply don’t indicate that you’re UCB or UCLA material, especially if you’re applying to competitive majors.
I knew people that tried to transfer again and the problem was that they NEVER finished their degree because they were so hell-bent on getting into a “name” that they weren’t able to meet and make the requirements.
Why are you assuming that Berkeley or LA would take you after SC? You were rejected and that won’t change with another transfer.
