I had gotten into UCR, UCSC, UC Merced, SJSU, SFSU and my local college CSUB, due to family issues I will not be able to attend any other college besides my local CSU, I was waitlisted at SDSU and I was wondering if after 2 years at CSUB I could transfer to another CSU or maybe a UC? Is it possible I would appreciate more info on this
The best route for transfer is through a CCC since they have articulation agreements in place especially for SDSU. SDSU gives priority to applicants within the San Diego area CC’s. CSU to UC transfer is possible but you need to work with an advisor to try and match up the CSU classes to the required UC classes. With the CCC’s, using assist.org and TAG, you can get into a UC of choice much easier. I would post this in the UC transfer thread since there are far more knowledgeable posters that have gone through these type of transfers.
CSU to CSU is pretty doable as a Jr. SDSU and SLO are both very popular destinations so are very competitive regardless of your entry point. For most majors, the others are viable with a 3.3 GPA.
UCs give significant preference to Cal CCs and other UCs. Just a couple hundred (vs 10s of thousands) manage a CSU to UC transfer.
