Hey guys., i dont know if this is the right topic for this but here it goes. 2 weeks a go i was waitlisted from my number 1 school, it's not a real popular school so im still hoping i have an opportunity to get admission off the wait list. When i visited the school in November, the lady at admisisons said look if you dont get in and your on the bubble (me) you can always go to community college for a semester till december than switch on in to Plattsburgh. I figured i was going to get in anyways, and its not really working out all that well haha. Today I was talking to my Math teacher and she said she had a friend who did that exact same thing, 1 semester than transfered out from the community college. So my question is, is this possible? and how hard and of a pain would it be to do so? Thanks a lot guys

yes it is possible! I know a good amount of kids I went to HS with who did the same

I am also considering transferring after a semester at community college. I will have 18 credits by the end of the semester-- would this be sufficient for review?

bumpppppppppppppppppp

People do this all the time. Here are some things to consider:

-Check how your school defines a transfer student. Sometimes if you have under 24 credits, they will consider you a freshman and look at high school and college. All depends on the school. Check the school’s website.

Get as many gen eds out of the way you possible can. A lot of schools now tell you how credits transfer so this way you can plan properly. Also a lot of community colleges have transfer offices that deal with this all the time.

Do really well in community college.

If you can handle 18 credits i would say go for it. Otherwise do 12 or 15. Remember you also have the winter session (if your cc offers one) to take some classes.

thatd be great doing the winter classes on break, thanks a lot for the info i will definately look into what they define a transfer student!
