I am a Freshman in college, at UT Austin in Texas.
I wasn't really thinking about what I wanted to do in High school.

Now that I know I want to do medicine, I am interested in the combined undergraduate/medical school programs.

Do you know of any combined programs which allow transfers?
Could I re apply as a freshman? (is this even worth considering?)

Or is the best thing to do, just apply to medical school with everyone else?

Even if transfer is possible, how competitive would you be?

If you’re just deciding to be a doctor, you probably don’t have enough background, and you’ll need at least a full undergraduate experience to get the elements of a good application.

How much science and math have you taken? Have you volunteered in clinical medical settings, shadowed doctors, done research? How well do you do on standardized high-stakes tests?

How are your finances? Medical school is extremely expensive, so your undergrad should be as low-cost as possible. If you’re in-state now as a Texas resident, you already may have an ideal financial situation.

That is a good question for the Med School Forum. Go to the main page where all of the forums are listed, and scroll down to find it.
