Can I transfer to top school?

Hello everyone,
I am an international student who came from china. I am studying in Uconn right now, and I am math major. I am a sophomore right (fourth semester) now. I want to apply for the junior transfer to Penn(Dream school), Brown, Uchicago, Northwest, Columbia and Umichigan. The reason I ask is my SAT is really really bad, and I think it gonna effect my application a lot.

My situation;

High school (I went to high school in China, so we don't use GPA, But I got almost A in hight school and I have official transcript)
GPA:3.973 (current) in Uconn
Major: General Math
Applying Major(in new school):Math
SAT: 1650 out of 2400 (I know it is so bad)

I got All A from my past courses except the English class for first term (A-)

member of marketing club in UConn
member of International Business club in Uconn
Dance poping since middle school, I have my own dance crew in Uconn ( performance for events a lot)
Volunteer/member of charitable organization “One dollar project" ( have US official document to prove legality)
Volunteer for Alternative break in Providence
member of Golden Key International Honour society
one internship in china over last summer( have official papers)
one internship during last semester ( as manager for a international summer school in Taiwan)

So what do you guys think, please give some advice, I know the chance is really low, but I still want to try. I mean I have reason to transfer. For penn, the reason I that is my dream school is I really think I can get what I want in Upenn. Its hard to say all reason here, but the main point is when I visited penn, I was been touched a lot. I just want to tell you guys truth, when I chat with my friend in my school, they never understand why I choose math major or why I like math. But when the first day I visited penn, a random student from penn told me some words I never gonna forget when I told him I am math major. I really feel thats the people I would like to spend my college time to work with because they understand me. It is really mean a lot for me.

I can not go too much detail here, because I am still trying to re-take my sat on 4 days later, oh and one more question. My sat is 1650 right now, and I think this time I would not be able to get more than 1800, do you guys think I should take this SAT or not, because this is the last time i can take before transfer deadline. But the thing I am worry about is the grade from this time will not be high enough (around 1800), so will the people thing that " oh! this kid sill just get 1800 after almost two years college, he is sucks"....

I really need some help, thank you for helping!!

Please give some advice, Thank you!!!

unless you think you are going to do well on the SAT don’t bother re-taking it. 200 points won’t make a difference, every student there has a 2300 or higher

thx i feel the same way… so are you saying i have no chance to get into these school??

as good a shot as anyone if you manage to pull up your SAT to 2200-ish, at least 2150. top schools like Columbia only accept about 110ish kids out of 2000+, so you might want to come as close to perfection as you can - be it on you SATs, or if not, your essays and prof recs. but good luck to you!

thank you so much@bluechair, to be truth, i don’t think i can get around 2150 this time, so are you saying if my essays work really well, is there still chance I can get into these school? I don’t know I feel so worry about my transfer…I am not happy at all in my current school, I kill myself to study to keep high enough GPA in order to transfer…I really hope I can get into…Do you have any specific advice for me? Thank you so much!!! (I would like to add more school like Rice university)

I’d say there’s always a chance, but my only piece of advice is, hope for the best - prepare for the worst. You really can’t know with top schools. If you’re really unhappy, give it a go, but add some safety schools to your list, too. Good luck!

@bluechair thank you so much!!! and what range you think is kind of safety for me… I mean I won’t transfer to a almost same rank school like (UPS etc. I mean UPS is a good school but after I plan this thing almost a year and half I really don’t want to transfer to a almost same rank school, you know what mean?)
So what you think is kind of safety for me? what about NYU or BC? BTW I really want to get into Rice university too.
