If you convey your passion for making those mission trips you have a pretty good shot at making it in.

Also why did you take so many SAT II's?

We had this kinda compitition thing going on @ my school seeing who could get the best scores on the most. I might not put them all on my app because my counsulor told me it would make me look needy.

@Kaye93: What? Nonsense. How is showing knowledge of multiple subject areas demonstrative of neediness? Regardless, sending the score of one will automatically display the scores of the others.

When listing ECs, highlight your mission trips, but be sure to throw in one or two that also shows you are a regular guy as well. That's just my take on it.

For essays, be sure to read the posts (and books) that caution against using the "we're all the same" and other "we are the world/holding hands" type ephiphanies. What you need to highlight while using the mission as the backdrop is you - that you have a good balance between working hard and being likeable. Remember that your essays need to tell the admissions officers that you are passionate - and this passion applies to how you approach life - but that you are also approachable and have just the right amount of humor/humbleness to make you a great classmate for all of the students you will be interacting with on campus. The essay shouldn't be about mission work... it should reveal a slice of your life that makes each admissions officer be interested in meeting you and convinced that you will absolutely shine on the campus.
