Is it common for a junior level transfer to join a fraternity? How would I go about doing this?

Yes, it is definitely possible.

One of my fellow pledge class brothers was actually going into his second semester of junior year, after transferring into the school at the beginning of junior year. In my experience, I've noticed that every pledge class differs, just as every school and their greek system differs.

I would say to just go to the open houses and introduce yourself to the brothers.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Yes, frats take people from any class. It's def more common for them to take guys that are lower classman though. It really depends on the school and chapters. Lots of public schools take quite a few jrs as they are used to getting a lot of CC kids. Plus other schools have like delayed rushes where you can't join a frat til spring of freshman or sophomore years. But typically you enter a frat first year (fall or spring) and fall of sophomore. If you want to join a frat though it really won't matter, frats look more for guys that fit the frat. Girls are screwed on their side, most freshman get looked at more than sophomores or higher. The only problem you may encounter is a lot a people I know that are in frats have told me sometimes your pledge class matters more than the frat overall as those are the guys you pledged with. So if you're in a large frat you may find you have a closer bond with your pledge class and that will be mostly underclassman.
