Can Lehigh still review my application?

I’m a gap year applicant and my high school literally refused multiple times to send the guidance counselor letter of recommendation that I used in my apps last year, which is required by Lehigh.

They told me that since I’m no longer a student, I no longer have a guidance counselor, and cannot have my guidance counselor letter of rec sent. After inquiring further into it, they stopped responding to my emails.

Is my application void or will it still be reviewed and considered? I have my teacher recs and all the other stuff.

Call Lehigh tomorrow morning and explain your situation.

^^ agree with contacting Lehigh, adding to have your parents call the school principal and/or head of the guidance counseling department.

Does your Lehigh portal reflect that all required application materials have been received? If so, at least they will be able to make a decision…of course, having the GC rec letter could help.

No, it reflects that my guidance counselor letter of rec is missing

I’d moved on from Lehigh a few weeks ago, assuming that my app was void but for some reason I got some hope back today.

Definitely contact your lehigh AO tomorrow, email and phone call. If your parents are willing, I still would have them work the school too—it’s unacceptable for them not to send that letter.

@Mwfan1921 alright, ty. Will call tomorrow.

And we already emailed the head of guidance twice, called, and tried scheduling a face to face appointment. Got my app at WUSTL voided because of this too :frowning:

Alright, so just got off the phone with one of the admission reps. They ended up putting me on hold for 20 minutes, I presume because they weren’t sure as of what to do about the situation haha.

When they came back, they said that they’d waive the recommendation requirement for me and my application would be reviewed (although I’m not sure if it will make a difference since decisions are supposed to come out this week or so).

Thanks for the advice, as I wouldn’t have called otherwise
