what is your race? do you really live in a village?
I’m white, so no hook there either. and yeah, my hometown is a three thousand person village of Olde New England goodness, we’re attached to one of my state’s major towns though so it’s not like I live off in the hills. I usually tell people to think Stars Hollow, if you’ve ever seen Gilmore Girls.
ohhhhhhh you make me nervous dude… w/ those test scores/GPA you STILL didn’t get into UCLA?! i am so sorry…
dawn, are you talking about gplayer’s stats? Because those aren’t really considered well above average at UCLA.
collegedata.com seems to have historical data of actual applicants in a database. would be great if CC came up with a similar one!
i agree with what you said, but the forum is called “What are my chances” and not “this is what i got, compare yourself to me, and then reason it out yourself” maybe start a completely different forum and group all the people who post their results together. that would be more helpful
To Karupt, I thought that the UC’s were a straight by the numbers college which doesn’t weigh URM’s the same way as other colleges, but hmmmm…
ACT- 29
GPA- 95.8% (school doesnt wait)
EC’s- Editor of Newspaper, German Club Treasuere, work 30 hrs a week.
Accepted- Tulane (ED)
got in w/ 18 grand a year scholarship for four years (yah… totally surprised)
Thats it… It’s November 7th and my college search is over. I LOVE EARLY DECISION
I agree with GodzillaBorland… it would be really useful if the what are my chances section had an actual results section… and then maybe divided by college, so that people could look up other people who got in to (or rejected from) where they are looking. Of course, they would still want personal chances I imagine, but this way there would be a quick resource to compare…
does any agree??
On many CC boards for the top colleges, there are April threads with results that include stats. A lot of people, however, who get rejected don’t bother to post their results.

Wow! That was helpful. But he is an URM. So, that doesn’t really apply. Thanks just the same. I was looking for non-recruits, non-legacy, non-URMs. Sigh…not sure if it will work even though my D’s ACT SATs are about the same.

his is a URM but many URMs get rejected with higher stuff…he probably had or did something else that was important
Intimidating thread… because only the successful applicants post here, haha. The ones who failed to get accepted probably never went to this site again haha
