sure, and oil is free.

umm, no

Kind of odd how many fitness gurus are lurking on this board

22 lbs in a month is almost impossible unless you're grossly overweight (250 lbs +)

you should eat right (monitor your calories and the types of fat you consume). The easiest way to eat right is to start by cutting off all drinks that have calories (fruit juice included) and excercise.

weight training aids in losing weight as it burns calories and builds muscle (muscle takes more energy to maintain than fat). However, since you want to lose weight/fat you should focus on cardio. Do at least 1 hour daily and you should be fine. Don't go on the fad diets (atkins, south beach) b/c they are unhealthy and you'll just gain the weight back anyways. If your still in highschool maybe you should try out for the wrestling or water polo team. Those two sports emphasis cardio and will have you shedding lbs like no other.

You can take a fatburner like hydroxycut, which will help but it will not substitute good excercise and diet.

regarding whether or not to lift weights, its important to know whether you wanna lose weight, or fat. if you wanna lose weight (fat along with the muscles), sure you can afford to skip the lifting and go on a crazy crash diet and cardio frenzy. on the other hand, if you wanna keep as much muscle as you can, stick with the weights, you don't need a special routine, just whatever worked for you before. if you're completely new, just work with a friend.

Not really. I myself am on a diet and have been since early March. Over that time I went from 195lbs to 165lbs by completing actions in some cases an extreme level. I cut out fats, sodas, fast food, and anything that resembles junk completely from my diet, and I stuck with drinking water, eating meat, fruits/vegetables, and some dairy. In terms of my excersise, I ran about 30 minutes every single day, and did about 15 minutes of working out by means of pushups/squats/situps/curlups. Now maybe I didn't lose 20lbs in a month, but unless you starve yourself that is highly unlucky. What I do recommend that you eat small meals every few hours and excersise on a daily basis, and soon enough you should be able to stick with this plan and lose some extra weight.
