Hello!
my son is currently a junior with a 2.7 GPA. He is really into theater and has been in 3 musicals and 5 serious plays. He is a member of the school's Thespian Society and is very dedicated. He does not share with us much but I would want to know how a 2.7 GPA would affect his choices in college.

Some good theatre schools to look at are Goucher, Otterbein, Drew, Hartford (the Hartt School), Arizona State, Columbia College (Chicago), Adelphi and Suffolk. I think these would all be excellent choices with his current gpa. Also, with some of the theatre programs gpa is not as much of a concern because its mainly auditions that matter the most. Having said that many of the schools I just listed do not require auditions, but are still very strong in theate arts. Drew and Columbia College are SAT optional also I believe. Good luck!

look into state schools. i know that montclair and rutgers have good theatre programs, but thats new jersey. hofstra and wagner are also really good.
