Can SAT subject test scores make up for low grades?

I made a C in physics this semester, my senior year. I really slacked off, messed up, and I know I've significantly lowered my chances of getting into a good college. However, could a good score (750+) on the SAT physics subject test maybe cancel out the C somewhat? Physics at my school is notoriously hard, so much so that the counselor is willing to attach a note about it on my midyear report, and it's college level (taken at a university). Would a good SAT subject test score be able to convince adcoms that I'm ok at physics?

Or would my app be rejected even before they got to look at the test scores because I got a C? Or because adcoms view my C as laziness more than incompetence, so a subject test wouldn't really change anything?

Anyone? 10 Char

No, grades are just as important, unless your school has an inflated or deflated system.

However it will help nonetheless.

Nothing “cancels out” anything else. As far as I know, grades/GPA/percentage average are always more important than scores from standardized tests, unless your school as a reputation for inflated averages.
