Can SAT2 Scores (high ones, close to 800) ever help your chances or can low scores only hurt your chances? Are colleges impressed with perfect subject test scores the way they would be with perfect SAT1 scores? Does 100points more on a Subject test have the same impact that 100 points would on the reasoning test?

I was kind of wondering the same thing except like, maybe if you got a B+ in a class and get 700+ on SAT II do they "forget" about your B+?

What does ctalk think?

I would assume colleges would only take notice of extremely high or low scores on the subject tests, as both extremes give adequate insight into a student's aptitude. If your scores are more on the average side, they will most likely have little to no effect.

if you can get high SAT scores, then it will definitely help your chance .
100 points more on a subject test, i guess, has slightly less impact than a 100 point increase on the reasoning test. but it's still very helpful. an 800 on the math 2C test can cover up your careless mistakes in the sat reasoning math part.

i think it matters more for more specific programs. like, if you were going into engineering, etc - programs you have to apply to.
