can SCEA hurt you?

I'm thinking about applying SCEA because Stanford is my top choice and it would be a stress-reliever to know whether I am accepted or rejected by mid-December. I know that there is generally a stronger pool of applicants applying SCEA, but does this decrease chances of acceptance compared to Regular Decision? Thanks

I don't think so...I heard stanford's rejecting more and more applicants in the SCEA round as each year goes by, so i think %-wise, it's gonna be very similiar. And yes, SCEA chooses the best-of-the-best (usually), so maybe the advantage of RD is that there won't be as MUCH? i don't know...but that's what i think.

If your application will be stronger in December, apply RD. If not, then SCEA is a good choice.
