can somebody help me evaluate my chances at UVA?

I just recently heard some good things about UVA and have decided to add it to my very tentative list. If anybody could help me determine my chances though (so I can qualify it as a slight match/match/reach/super reach/etc.), that would be extremely helpful.

I'll just give a quick overview of my stats.

-Hispanic female from Texas
-4.2 GPA weighted, top 2% of graduating class (about 500 kids at public HS)
-IB Diploma candidate, hardest courseload possible
-AP Scholar, Natl. Hispanic Merit Scholar, Natl. Merit Commended
-SAT: 2250 composite (M650 CR800 W800...will be re-taking to pull up math score)
-student body VP
-varsity sport (JV for 9, 10, lettered in 11)
-VP of Natl. Spanish Honor Society
-heavy involvement in a couple other ECs
-Speech/Debate team with awards at regional level
-400/500 hours of unique community service
-work 6 days a week afterschool to save money for college
-essays/recs should be great

Thanks so much for your advice.

Very good creds. Even though it's harder to get in OOS, I'd be surprised if you weren't admitted.

A match, I would say. You should expect to get in, as long as you don't blow your essays.

do u think she would get jefferson

What is Jefferson?

http://www.jeffersonscholars.org/

it pays for your whole tuition

...seriously apply 2 harvard or yale or sumthin like that

i highly doubt she'd be a jeff scholar

you'll get into harvard or yale or princeton probably

I see no reason why UVA would reject you, you seem like the perfect out-of-state student who gets into UVA

I don't think you'll get jefferson scholar though, but I would bet that you would get so much money from UVA that it would be as cheap as instate schools (or cheaper, like it is for me, cause I am so awesome)

in addition to ivies, apply to UVA, some would consider it better than some ivies (from comparative knowledge, students that do well out of UVA do just as good OR BETTER than ivy graduates, it's weird but true) I prefer UVA over cornell duke dartmouth, though princeton yale harvard are tempting if I would have gotten into them, but they rejected me---their loss, I love UVA so so so much, I LOVE UVA, and I'm from AZ, so out-of-stater opinion: UVA is 1,000 thumbs up, a 200 on a scale of 1-10 (it's theoretically not even possible to be 200 on a scale of 1-10, that's how good UVA is, meaning if UVA was a girl, and jessica alba is a 10, UVA would be hotter then Athena the Greek goddess, so yeah UVA is awesome)

UVA doesn't offer merit scholarships, so she probably won't be getting any money unless she needs financial aid. Jefferson Scholar doesn't really count, because it's not UVA offered (rather Alumni Assoc. offered) and doesn't really go so much by merit as much as where you're from, your interview, and your ECs.

this is impressive- i just applied ED there.
but i was wondering if you knew any people who got Jefferson and what their credentials were.
my school nominated me to be the candidate, but i think i have no chance :(
