Hi all, I've applied to UVA regular decision (should have done so early, but whatever). I hear it's rather difficult to get in OOS, so I'm very nervous about getting in. Here I am in a rather large nutshell:

School: Very good NJ public high school that is small but well-respected by anyone who knows NJ public high schools.
GPA: 3.97 unweighted, 4.18 weighted. Ranked 5th out of 144 in my class unweighted.
SAT: 2210 (800 CR, 770 WR, 640 math [I know, I know, I'm lopsided])
SAT II: 760 US History, 720 Lit
Course load: Took and got A's in AP Art History as a sophomore and APUSH and AP English Language as a junior. Currently taking AP Stats, AP Calc, AP English Lit, AP Psychology, AP European History, in addition to a regular anatomy course and and elective. Always took the honors stuff.

Gonna get two superb recommendations: one from my sophomore yr. AP Art History teacher who loves me, and another from my Senior yr. AP Calc and Stats teacher. Probably a good counselor rec, although who knows.

I wrote my Common App essay about my job as a professional, paid sportswriter (which is my biggest hook).

Honors: National Honor Society (11, 12); Spanish National Honor Society (10, 11); Second place in school on AMC 12 (11); AP Scholar (11).

EC's (a potential weakness):
Junior States of America all four years (running for president, am the representative to state assembly)
Mock Trial all four years, attorney for three years, captain this year
Quiz Bowl team captain
Volunteer at and organize our school blood drives

Service:
See aforementioned blood drives
Tutor at local middle school on a weekly basis

Work (biggest strength):
Paid Featured Columnist for a sports website, job goes on every week of the year
Summer paralegal at an insurance company for two years
Private tutor this year

I'm also looking at these schools Regular Decision:
Dartmouth
Columbia
Princeton
Harvard

I know I'm very much a long shot at the latter three schools, especially because I've already been rejected by Yale. But who cares, now I can go to Charlottesville!

So, how do I fare?
