Can someone chance me and answer transferring questions.

Hello everybody. I'm going to attempt transferring into SUNY-University at Buffalo. I will be applying for the Spring 2015 semester. I am attending a CUNY school (City Tech) for two semesters than transferring out. At the time of application I will have 33 credits. What are my chances with the following criteria:

-Honors Scholar Student (Designated on my transcript when I submit it to UB)
-I'm a minority (Half Haitian, Half Sri Lankan)
-3.943 GPA thus far.
-Electrical Engineering Technology Major. (Applying for Electrical Engineering at UB)
-I'll have good recommendations from my professors. (One from my calc 2 professor, circuit analysis 1 professor and physics 1.3 professor)

Semester 1 (Fall 2013)
Calc 1 (4 credits), A
Physics 1.2 (4 credits), A. basically this is an algebra based physics course for the first semester of physics covering basics such as forces, kinematics, fluid mechanics, etc...
English Composition 1 (3 credits), A-
Macroeconomics (3 credits) , A
Techniques of Electrical Technology (2 credits), A

Semester 2 (Spring 2014)
Calc 2 (4 credits)
Physics 1.3 (5 credits), basically the same as physics 1.2 but calc based.
Intro to Philosophy (3 credits)
Circuit Analysis 1 (4 credits)
Electrical Drafting (1 credit)

If I get a 4.0 for the second semester will I have a shot at UB? I keep hearing that it is competitive when transferring into its engineering program. With my stats can I apply for the honors college at UB? And finally, how is the financial aid at UB for transfers? Can I apply for any scholarships? Thanks for those read this, cheers. :)

I don’t think UB awards any merit-based scholarships to transfer student.

My daughter transferred into UB from SUNY ESF and my son started as a freshman in electrical engineering. That being said - The above poster is correct in that UB does not offer merit money to transfer students and need-based is driven by your fafsa, but I believe incoming freshman may be given preference. As for engineering - it takes two admissions decisions to get into engineering. One from UB itself into the university and one from the college of engineering. It is difficult to get in as a transfer student because UB has a very specific course flowchart for engineers starting in freshman year. You should call the transfer admissions office and find out if they take engineer transfers and how it works.

Thanks. I guess I will contact the school.
